Perhaps one of the most taken-for-granted positive attributes that a person, organization, or even a product may have, is Reliability.
It is an odd thing because when it’s there, we don’t see it; and when it disappears, is all the more visible.
Reliability is not flashy, it does not make a fanfare every time it happens, and looks boringly the same every time. That’s why we take it for granted sometimes, and the very reason why is so valuable and beautiful.
It also takes a great amount of leadership to create reliability. The only way to show it, is to be there, reliably, for a long time. And when creating something, this may mean that whatever you do, sticks around way after you are gone or have moved on to the next thing.
We should celebrate reliability more. We would probably have more of it.
Thank you for reading. Reliably.
