We all celebrate pride. When there is a true reason to feel proud, you should walk around with your head high, with nothing to feel ashamed of.
Sometimes is difficult. If you have been humiliated, wronged, and bullied, it takes an extra dose of righteousness to keep going and go out into the world, continuing to do what you do best. This is where Pride month came from. To allow those that have gone through this, to be themselves.
There is a different interpretation of pride as well. When someone has been an accomplice of the wrongdoing, then decide that there is nothing to be ashamed of, and continues with their business like nothing. There is better word for that: Chutzpah.
Chutzpah is a great Yiddish word that brings together audacity with insolence. Some organizations are doing just that these days, making a big gathering and a lot of noise, exactly where they just helped to create a whole lot of pain and suffering. That’s not Pride, that’s Chutzpah.
