I have shared this video several times in the past, but is worth showing it again.
Besides the comedic value, it illustrates how important scientific management is to be able to reach peak performance, and this includes the right amount of people, the right tools, and more importantly, the right process.
The video compares how pitstops at the Formula One were done in the past, vs today. The first part of the video shows a motley crew of guys aimlessly roaming around the car without real intentionality. Do not miss the guy in the back trying to prop up the car, he’s oviously the wrong guy for the job, you need someone beefier for that job, or the one screwing in the gas cap, or the one hammering the wheelhub. It is frankly embarrassing.
The second part of the video, is more current, and you almost have to put it in slo-mo to appreciate the symphony.
The difference? 1950s: 1 minute, 3 seconds. 2013: 3 seconds.
Enjoy.
