When we are optimistic, we are more likely to take risks and try new things. We are more likely to believe in ourselves and our abilities, and to take action towards our goals. We are also more likely to stay positive and resilient in the face of adversity.
This is fundamentally important when getting ourselves into something hard. An optimistic mindset allows us to see the world in a positive light and helps us stay motivated and focused on our goals, even when things seem difficult or impossible. If we get disillusioned quickly, or we just don’t see a way to exert progress, we are more likely to quit before we see the fruits of our work.
But it also takes a special type of optimism. A “passive” optimist is someone who believes things will turn out ok, but passively observes the results. Goes with the flow, and things “happen” to them. An “active” optimist goes a bit further, not just assuming that things will turn out ok, but that if they don’t, they will be resourceful enough to fix or overcome them. This type of optimism is deeply based in confidence.
We can chose to be optimistic every day, and with a little dash of hard work, we can all use the power of positive thinking to reach our goals.
